Lash Adhesives are diverse, different and fickle things. The ingredients have been fine-tuned to be low odour, thin, thinner, fast, faster, fastest and so on. All of these evolutions have meant that to get the best out of your adhesive, you MUST look after it.

You need to keep check of the humidity of your room, the temperature, your storage and most importantly, you must shake that adhesive as if you had a wasp stuck on your hand.

If you don’t shake your adhesive, like vigorously shake your adhesive, the ingredients inside will not mix properly. If the ingredients do not mix properly, the adhesive will not work as it is supposed to. This will then mean poor retention for your client and their lashes. Not good for anyone.

As a rule of thumb, if your adhesive is properly mixed, it will be pitch black (if you’re using a black adhesive). If your adhesive is not properly mixed, it’ll be grey, speckled or clear. The reason it is clear/grey is because the carbon black colouring in the adhesive has settled at the bottom. This means that although the adhesive appears “off”, it would still work perfectly. The problem arises when you use up all the clear stuff (Cyanoacrylate) and the carbon black colour is all that’s left. You will think that you are using normal adhesive, but instead, it’ll just be carbon black colouring. Which again will mean zero retention.

Has this ever happened to you?
